谢安琪6岁开始学习音乐，考获8级钢琴资格，亦懂得弹吉他。跟丈夫张继聪同于中学时期就读大埔恩主教书院。于香港中学会考考获最佳六科合共21分的成绩，并于2002年入读香港大学文学院，主修美国研究，并于2005年毕业。后担任钢琴教师，培育音乐人才。她在大学时已参加歌唱比赛获得评判音乐监制周博贤(Adrian)赏识，并于2005年推出首张个人专辑《Kay One》。她在出道前，曾在香港一些大型商场作过现场表演。初出道时，唱片公司特意保持她的神秘感，不让她向公众露面，只派歌上台，以声线吸引听众注意。
